Ⅰ.Basic information.
LIU Yunhua (1964- ) did his graduate works at Soochou (Suzhou) University (1988-1991) and Peking (Beijing) University (1998-2001); he got his degrees of M.A. and Ph.D. in 1991 and in 2001 respectively. Now he is university professor and director at Fudan University.
II. Research Interests.
Early Modern Sino-European Intellectual and Cultural Encounters/Interactions, Sino-Western Comparative Poetics, Anglo-American Sinology, The Relationship between Christianity and Classical Chinese Literature and Culture and Confucian Poetics.
Ⅲ.Research results.
He is the author of Hermeneutics and the Meaning-making of Confucianist Canons in Pre-Qin Dynasty (Shanghai, 2002), Interpretive Circle: the Missionary Interpretation of the Confucian Classics and its Chinese Response at Late Ming and Early Qing (Beijing, 2005/2006), Christian Culture in Chinese Writings: Sino-Western Literary Relations in Southern China at Early and Middle Qing Dynasty(1644-1840) (Shanghai, 2014), Crossing Boundaries: Chinese and Western Literature and Literary Theories (Shanghai, 2014), Rebirth of the Pre- Qin Confucian Canons (Fuzhou, 2017) and numerous academic articles.
